A Month with the Oils.

It has now been I have been exploring and experimenting with my favorite IMG_E0281[1]Birthday present, Young Living Essential Oils Starter Kit!

This didn’t come easy as I was very cynical about essential oils and it took over a year of proof and testimonies from my friend, who is a Nurse Practitioner, to convince me to give them a go. I think because she works in medicine and uses it when appropriate, I was able to take her more serious. It is all about prevention and using the oils first before downing pills or antibiotics. Considering the newest worrying research regarding the future of antibiotics, this was something I needed to try out.

Can I just say that so far so exciting. Literally every other day I have learned a new way to use them and how to get the most out of these lovely oils. I am only just starting to find out how these oils can improve the health and well-being of my whole family but here are my favorites in the past month.

The De-Stresser!IMG_E0282[1]

I am 34 with my newborn baby (who is three weeks early), trying to breastfeed, hours after a C-Section and sterilization in a crowded NHS hospital room. I used the amazing smelling blend Stress Away by massaging a few drops on base of my neck and temples. I felt calmed and was able to have amazing rest considering the circumstances. I still use it when I feel stressed or in the evening when I want to chill.

The De-Stinker!IMG_0268[1]

Completely killing off any nasty smell is just one of the many uses of the Essential Oil blend Purification. We diffuse 3-5 drops in the kitchen to eliminate all smells after cooking or daily life with 5 kids, 2 cats and 1 geriatric Labrador. It’s amazing at leaving no remnants of any smell from steamed kale to fried bacon!

My oldest son has rugby practice or matches 2 to 3 times a week and his boots smell like something crawled in them and died. A few drops of this oil on some cottonwood and placed in the boots overnight has remedied this and I think I even like my son better now. Being serious though, I love this oil!

The C-Section Wonder!

This oil is another super oil and has loads of uses. I have used Frankincense on my C-Section scar and it has worked wonders. It smells amazing and immediately I could feel it tingling and drying out the scar. By week 4 the scar was looking completely healed and felt great. I still apply just one drop (it goes a long way) twice a day and its fading by the day. Fantastic stuff!IMG_0264[1]
